Luke Littler’s rise to global stardom has already taken him places most teenage athletes could only dream about, but there is one surprising career move that may never happen because of girlfriend Faith Millar.
The darts sensation, who has become the face of the sport after his incredible success over the last two years, recently admitted he would love to try boxing one day. However, despite his growing fascination with the sport, Littler confessed that Faith is strongly against the idea of him stepping into the ring.
The 19-year-old made the revelation after attending the thrilling heavyweight clash between Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley in Manchester — a brutal contest that instantly became one of the most talked-about fights of the year.
Dubois eventually secured a dramatic 11th-round stoppage victory after climbing off the canvas twice earlier in the fight. The action-packed showdown left fans stunned, and Littler was among those completely captivated by the atmosphere and intensity inside the arena.
After the event, the teenage world champion could barely hide his excitement as he praised the fight and admitted it had increased his interest in boxing even further.
“It was one of the best heavyweight fights you will ever see,” Littler said.
The Warrington-born star revealed he had spent the entire evening glued to the action after arriving early enough to watch the undercard fights as well. Yet in a funny twist, Littler admitted he somehow missed the very first knockdown of the night because he was busy talking at ringside.
“The first knockdown happened so fast that I didn’t even see it,” he explained.
The teenager had been chatting with highly-rated heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma when chaos erupted in the ring, leaving him scrambling to catch up with what everyone around him was reacting to.
While Littler was clearly blown away by the experience, it was his comments afterwards about potentially entering the ring himself that really grabbed attention.
When asked if he would ever consider taking part in a boxing event, the darts superstar immediately admitted the idea appealed to him.
“I’d love to,” he confessed.
However, before fans could start dreaming up crossover fights and celebrity boxing matchups, Littler quickly explained why the idea may never become reality.
“The missus does not want me to,” he added.
The honest confession instantly sparked huge reaction online, with many supporters joking that Faith Millar may have saved the darts world from disaster.
Some fans laughed that Littler would be “grounded” if he ever signed a boxing contract, while others admitted they could understand Faith’s concerns completely given how valuable the teenager’s darts career has already become.
Littler did suggest that if he ever agreed to fight, it would only be a one-off appearance rather than a serious attempt to switch sports permanently.
“A one-off definitely, on Misfits,” he said.
Misfits Boxing has exploded in popularity in recent years by staging crossover bouts involving influencers, celebrities and athletes from different sports. The promotion has become known for creating viral moments and attracting huge online audiences, making it the obvious destination if Littler ever decided to test himself in the ring.
The thought of one of the world’s most famous darts players competing under the bright lights of a boxing arena immediately fuelled speculation over who he could face. Social media users quickly began suggesting opponents ranging from fellow athletes to internet personalities.
But despite the excitement surrounding the possibility, there are understandable reasons why those close to Littler would prefer him to stay away from combat sports.
At just 19 years old, the teenager already carries the expectations of an entire sport on his shoulders. Since bursting onto the scene with his unforgettable run to the PDC World Championship final in 2024, Littler has transformed darts in ways few players ever have.
His fearless approach, huge scoring ability and relaxed personality made him an instant fan favourite. Crowds were drawn to his confidence and natural talent, while television audiences around the world became fascinated by the teenager nicknamed “The Nuke.”
What followed was one of the most extraordinary rises seen in modern sport.
After narrowly missing out on the world title during his first final appearance, Littler responded by winning major tournaments across the PDC calendar and eventually becoming world champion himself. Instead of struggling with the pressure that comes with fame, he embraced it.
He then defended his world title in 2026, proving his success was not simply a short-lived breakthrough but the beginning of a potentially historic career.
Away from darts, Littler’s relationship with Faith Millar has also become a regular talking point among fans. The couple are frequently seen together at tournaments, public appearances and sporting events, with Faith often supporting him from the crowd during major matches.
Despite the growing attention surrounding their relationship, Littler has continued to show the same relaxed and humorous personality that first made fans warm to him.
Earlier this year, he went viral after jokingly admitting he forgot to buy Faith a birthday present because he had been too focused on competing.
After lifting another major trophy, Littler laughed while explaining the situation.
“It is Faith’s birthday. I didn’t get her anything, but at least I got the trophy,” he joked.
Fans immediately flooded social media with reactions, though Littler later revealed the situation was eventually resolved with a shopping trip where Faith chose gifts herself.
Moments like that have only increased public fascination with the teenager’s life away from the oche. Yet despite his growing celebrity status, Littler still appears determined to keep his main focus firmly on darts.
That is why many supporters agree with Faith’s apparent stance on boxing.
A single punch or training injury could potentially threaten the career of a player already being tipped to break records that once seemed untouchable. Darts may not involve physical collisions, but it still demands incredible precision, concentration and control. Any injury to Littler’s hands, shoulders or arms could seriously impact his performances.
For now, at least, boxing remains more of a fantasy than a serious plan.
Littler clearly loves the sport and enjoys attending major events, but his future still belongs to darts — a sport he continues to dominate despite his young age.
And while fans may enjoy imagining “The Nuke” making a dramatic walk to the boxing ring one day, it seems there is one opinion that matters most before any decision is made.
Faith Millar has spoken — and for the moment, Luke Littler’s fighting will remain on the dartboard rather than inside the ropes.
