“Nick Kyrgios and Girlfriend Costeen Hatzi Shower Rafael Nadal with Love, Even as Tennis Legend Stays Silent”

Nick Kyrgios has once again shown his admiration for Rafael Nadal, continuing what many might call an unexpected “fanboy” moment. Despite their heated and often tense rivalry over the years, the Australian tennis star, known as the ‘Bad Boy of Tennis,’ has expressed deep respect and affection following the news of Nadal’s surprising retirement. Joining him in this show of love is Kyrgios’ girlfriend, Costeen Hatzi, who also showered praise on the Spanish legend during this emotional time. But, as of yet, the 22-time Grand Slam champion hasn’t responded.

Nadal recently shocked the tennis world by announcing that the Davis Cup Final 8 in Malaga this November will be his final professional event. His ongoing physical challenges have ultimately led him to end his remarkable career. Kyrgios, clearly moved by the announcement, took to social media to pay tribute to Nadal, writing: “We had our differences but you were one hell of a warrior. Best wishes and good luck with whatever comes next.” However, that wasn’t the only message from Kyrgios.

The 2022 Wimbledon finalist followed up with another heartfelt post, stating, “Bye Rafael Nadal, honestly you were one of my biggest motivations to get better. Good luck with whatever comes next.” His girlfriend, Costeen Hatzi, added her own words of admiration, calling Nadal’s career “iconic.” Despite these messages, Nadal has yet to respond to Kyrgios, a silence that has not gone unnoticed.

For Kyrgios, this outpouring of affection comes at a time when he’s been struggling with injuries. The Aussie hasn’t played much on the professional circuit recently, with his last appearance being at the 2023 Stuttgart Open, where he exited in the first round. In the meantime, he’s found a new role in the commentary box, most recently providing insight for ESPN during the US Open.

As for Nadal, tributes have been pouring in from across the tennis world. Not only Kyrgios, but legends like Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and many others have expressed their admiration and best wishes for the Spaniard. Nadal’s retirement announcement was as graceful as his career, saying: “In this life, everything has a beginning and an end. And I think it’s the appropriate time to put an end to a career that has been long and much more successful than I could have ever imagined.”

Nadal also took a moment to acknowledge his greatest rivals, including Djokovic, Federer, and Andy Murray, thanking them for their role in shaping his journey. “I feel super lucky for all the things I’ve been able to experience. I want to thank the entire tennis industry, all the people involved in this sport, my longtime colleagues, especially my great rival,” Nadal said.

Before his final bow at the Davis Cup, Nadal is set to play one last exhibition tournament in Saudi Arabia, alongside fellow Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz, marking the end of an era in tennis.
